ABRS+ was pleased to take part in discussions at the Royal Highland Show on Sunday 21st June, where around 20 delegates joined an hour-long session focused on the future of riding schools and grassroots riding.
The discussion generated positive engagement, with attendees sharing experiences and exploring the challenges and opportunities facing the sector. Representatives from across Scotland contributed to the conversation, including members of the equestrian community and industry organisations.
While there was recognition that historical structures and influences continue to shape the landscape in Scotland, there was also a sense that constructive dialogue is helping to move the conversation forward. The session provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships, exchange ideas and better understand the unique challenges facing Scottish riding schools.
Overall, the event was considered a worthwhile opportunity for ABRS+ to continue championing riding schools and grassroots equestrianism in Scotland, with further discussions expected to continue in the Horse Scotland Village, at Scone Palace international event on August 27-30th.
