Lads Lodge Riding Centre

Lads Lodge Riding Centre is a small, family-run riding centre in Cumbria. With more than 30 years of experience, the centre welcomes both children and adults, from complete beginners taking their first steps with horses through to experienced riders looking to develop their skills.

There is plenty of variety on offer. Riders can choose from individual and group lessons, dressage, showjumping, cross-country and hacking, with access to Greenlands’ extensive facilities including a large indoor school, outdoor arenas, showjumping arena and cross-country course. Lads Lodge also specialises in equestrian vaulting – combining gymnastics and movement on horseback – providing an enjoyable alternative way to experience and develop confidence around horses. Summer camps, pony activities and opportunities to learn stable management add to the experience for younger riders.

The centre’s location also provides opportunities to enjoy horses beyond the arena, with hacking and riding experiences through the Cumbrian countryside. For those looking for something different, Lads Lodge offers riding holidays and a range of activities designed around different ages, abilities and interests.

At the heart of Lads Lodge is a relaxed, friendly approach in which riders are encouraged to progress towards their own goals while enjoying their time with horses. Its horses and ponies are very much regarded as part of the family, and the centre aims to create an inclusive environment where people can build confidence, make friends and enjoy developing their relationship with horses.
