Annual General Meeting & Conference

ABOUT EVENT

Join us on Monday 7th  & Tuesday 8th October for the ABRS Annual Conference, Dinner & AGM held at East Lodge Farm & Equestrian Centre, Northamptonshire and The Aviator Hotel, Northamptonshire

We have an exciting programme organised for you with demo’s and speakers covering some interesting topics that all riding schools should know.

MONDAY 7TH OCTOBER

10.00am                     Coffee and welcome

10.30am-11.00am        Blue Cross – rehoming into riding schools

11.00am-12.00pm        Rob Leese.  Demonstrating his methods of Horse Training (using Blue Cross horses)

Rob Leese

From Huntingdon, Northamptonshire is a film rider/actor and has worked with unbroken, difficult horses and is able to assist with all aspects of training horse and rider helping them achieve better communication with their horses. He will be demonstrating his methods on the Blue Cross rescue horses to determine whether they will be suitable for the riding school.

12.00pm-12.30pm        Animal Health Trust.  Fleur Whitlock and Dr Adam Rash. Update on Equine Flu and Should Riding Schools Vaccinate?

12.30pm-1.30pm         Buffet Lunch

1.30pm–2.00pm           Lucy Katan – BGA/EEA An Equestrian Employers legal responsibilities.

2.00pm-3.30pm           Canadian Paralympian Bert Sheffield will give a presentation, followed by a one to one coaching session.

Bert Sheffield

Bert is a Canadian Para-Equestrian Paralympic Team member and dressage rider with Rheumatoid Arthritis, based in the UK. She is also a successful able bodied dressage rider and qualified riding coach.

Bert represented Canada at the Rio Paralympics and was placed 4thin the World Equestrian Games in 2014.  An inspirational rider and trainer.

During the day there will be the opportunity to speak to representatives from Lingfield Correspondence and Leopard Risk Management;

Paula Clements from Lingfield Correspondence will be available to discuss provision for you and your staff’s CPD – as required by the new LA licence regulations.

Paul Reay from Leopard Risk Management will be available to examine your Insurance requirements.
