NEWC Cost of Living Crisis Survey

Posted on 22nd December 2022

Dear member, I hope all is well.

The National Equine Welfare Council has launched a Cost of Living survey for Equine Owners and Keepers today. The survey will run until 31st January and should only take around 20 minutes to complete. No personal data is being collected so all responses will be completely anonymous.

Alongside NEWC, the survey was put together by World Horse Welfare, Redwings, Blue Cross, the British Horse Society, Oak Tree Animals and the British Farriers and Blacksmiths Association, expert guidance was provided by Dr David Marlin and research consultant Dr Georgina Crossman, who will also help the team with analysing and reporting the data once the survey has closed.

As I’m sure you’ll agree, this is such a vital topic to explore and one that will resonate with horse owners across the UK. We hope that you will support the project by completing the survey and sharing it as widely as possible now and throughout January. The more data we can gather, the more credibility our findings will have at government level.  The surveys have been developed in tandem to help findings from each to create a fuller picture of how rising costs are impacting equine welfare.
