Additional £15m for Community Emergency Fund

Posted on 12th May 2020

Sport England announced an additional £15m will be added to their Community Emergency Fund, which has come from National Lottery money.

If you aren’t already familiar with it, the fund provides awards from £300–£10,000 to clubs and community organisations, including equestrian ones, to help them with their immediate financial distress, and was part of an up to £195m package of support from Sport England to the sport and physical activity sector, with this additional £15m taking the package up to £210m.

Sport England have also announced that they will be pausing the fund at 11:59pm on Thursday 14 May to allow them to process remaining applications and allocate funding.

It might be worth sharing this with your organisations and members, in case the fund can benefit them. I’ve added this new information to the Coronavirus Hub on our website and will shortly be putting a post on our social media channels.
