ABRS+ launch ‘Safe to Play’ workbooks in collaboration with the Pony Club

The ABRS+ are pleased launch three ‘Safe to Play’ workbooks in collaboration with the Pony Club:

• A beginner workbook, designed to help children aged 4-9 introduces basics of safety through fun and interactive activities. Children will learn to recognise feelings, understand personal space and know who they can go to for help.
• An intermediate workbook explores safe and unsafe behaviour in more detail, including recognising early warning signs, understanding safe and unsafe secrets and building confidence to speak up if something doesn’t feel right.
• An advanced workbook supports young people to develop a deeper understanding of safeguarding, including how concerns can arise, how to respond and how to access support through the Safe to Play website.

The three workbooks have been designed to help children and young people develop age-appropriate knowledge and confidence in keeping themselves and others safe within equestrian settings.

The workbook can be completed in conjunction with the ABRS+ Rosettes or Progressive Rider Tests, or standalone where this is appropriate.

The progressive rider tests A-E have just been revised and updated to reflect current best practice, welfare standards, and operational compliance.
