His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh opens entries for the Community Sport and Recreation Awards 2024

Sport and Recreation Alliance President, The Duke of Edinburgh, has officially announced that entries are now open for the Community Sport and Recreation Awards 2024.

Speaking at the Alliance’s Annual General Meeting at Guildhall on 12 September, The Duke praised the work of community sport and recreation organisations across the country and encouraged all those involved at grassroots level to continue to build on the momentum they have generated over the last year.

Our awards programme has been running for more than 25 years, celebrating the full breadth and power of sport and recreation, from rowing projects and rugby clubs to inclusive sport charities and climbing centres.

Submitting an entry is simple and free, and we are keen to hear about projects and initiatives that work with people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

The eight categories that featured in the Community Sport and Recreation Awards 2023 are returning once more, with each winning project picking up a £1,000 prize at our awards ceremony next year – location and date to be confirmed soon.
